Other  Natural Treatment for Athletes Foot

  • Baking Soda: Sprinkle a little baking soda in your shoes helps prevent unwanted moisture that usually causes athlete’s foot. Helps with odor too!
  • epsom_saltsEpsom Salts Soak: Epsom salts are magnesium sulphate. This is an inexpensive and rich source of magnesium and that also delivers sulfates, which are easily absorb through the skin. A foot soak or Epsom salt bath will soothe tired, achy feet Soak fee in a small tub full of hot water with 1/2 cup of Epsom Salts for 15-20 minutes. For a full body treatment after sports or exertion, use 1-2 cups in a full tub of hot water and soak 15-20 minutes. This will relaxing muscles and draw out toxins from the body. It will help calm the nervous system, reduce swelling, relax muscles. Epsom salts are a natural emollient and skin exfoliator!
  • Garlic: Eating garlic can prevent fungal infections and also quicken healing times. You can also apply it directly to the skin by mixing chopped garlic with a few drops of olive oil.
  • Coconut Oil: has anti-fungal properties and can be applied directly to the feet. Swab it liberally on clean dry feet with a cotton ball twice daily.
  • Colloidal Silver: Spray or apply to your feet and let it fully dry. You can also spray and leave the silver on your feet overnight.
  • Garlic: This is a natural anti-fungal. You can apply it directly to the skin by mixing chopped garlic with a few drops of olive oil.  Eating garlic can prevent fungal infections and also speed up recovery time.
  • Oregano Oil:  This is a  natural anti-fungal. Use on affected areas daily.
  • Tea Tree Oil:  This is a natural anti-fungal. Add Tea Tree Oil to a foot bath and soak your feet for 10 minutes. After soaking, dry the feet and massage a few drops of the oil directly into the affected area. This will help destroy the fungus in heavily infested areas and keep it spreading to unaffected areas.
  • Vinegar: Soak your feet in a apple cider or white vinegar and water mixture daily. Use 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water, so the vinegar doesn’t burn your skin. If your skin gets too irritated, reduce your soaks to once or twice a week.

  • Cotton Socks:  Wear a fresh pair each day, change if wet. Wash socks in the hot water.
  • Don’t Go Barefoot: Wear flip-flops in locker rooms or public places .
  • Don’t Share Towels:  Keep your linens and towels clean.

  • Keep Toenails Clean and Short:  Nail fungus and athletes foot fungus can’t grow in a clean, dry environment as easily.
